He llegado en la Ciudad de Mexico

We got off the plane, groggy eyed at about 6am (4am northwest time) and proceeded through immigrations and customs. A taxi took us to el Centro Historico where we found a nice little hotel named Hotel Juarez. It even has a balcony! Even though we are both still sick and got almost no sleep last night adjusting to travelling again has been fairly easy.
I think I will probably return quite rotund if I indulge in too much of the food here. What I´ve had so far has been quite tasty.
Lunch consisted of a salad (I know they say you´re not supposed to eat salad), melon soup, a chili stuffed with a banana and covered in a bean sauce and pear water.
Now it´s time to explore mexico city, which is probably the hugest city ever!
Oh no, time is up on the internet. I´ll be back later!

Hola Joel y Kira,
mucho divertisement (excitement?) por tu arrival en Mexico.
Okay, that was bad. But the food sounds excellent and I wish you could send me some! Get recipes, and that dinner you owe me can be a Mexican one. (I know, I know)

love, Tamara

A chili stuffed with a banana . . . I hope it's better than it sounds. So very happy to hear you are there safely albeit not yet in the best of health. Expect the spicy hot Mexican food will kill off some of those Northwest bugs you have. Excited to hear about what you are seeing and doing. BIG windstorm coming this way tomorrow. The local news is just crazy with all the hype. Pretty exciting stuff around here. Will keep you updated although from sounds of it we may lose all contact with the outside world. Battening down the hatches now.
Love, Mila/mom

Hi guys..NO MORE SALADS!! Enough of that. Sorry that both of you were still feeling punk, hence no salads. The food you are describing sounds fabulous so maybe this adventure should be all about food? I love ya both and take care. Love, your fave aunt, Kathy
